True Enterprise-Wide Deployment in Challenging Circumstances:  the Airways experience
Airways Corporation of New Zealand started its SharePoint 2010 journey early in 2011 with the vision of providing a seamless intranet, document and records management experience to users.

In an organisation characterised by risk and quality management disciplines the need for an agile, iterative approach has had to be tempered with strong process and risk management. At the same time, the usability bar needed to be set high, in order to gain the active support of a wide range of teams.

Hear how Airways has handled these competing needs in a way that has improved, rather than detracted from, project delivery and user uptake.

Icebreaker: Creating a global Intranet
As Icebreaker continued to expand around the world there was a need for better tools to manage and share information; previously having only used shared drives and email. Our high performing teams needed fast and easy access to relevant and up-to-date information, through a collaborative intranet that reflects the authentic and inspirational Icebreaker culture. Office 365 with SharePoint Online gave us the platform to quickly deploy a global intranet without the cost and complexity of our own global infrastructure. In this session we will provide an overview of how we achieved a great Icebreaker experience working with DNA and Knowledge Cue.

“Intranet: Time for high usefulness?” (25 Min Focus)
Many intranets are the play toys of the Marketing, Executive and Communication groups or have gone wild west. Most of the money goes on “look and feel”, leaving staff floundering on the lack of usefulness of it.

This paper gives you a strategy for positioning how you spend your time, money and influence to get a "high usefulness" platform that gets used and loved.

It covers five key battlegrounds to focus your efforts on. This includes:
>Ways of delivering look and feel that don’t break the bank
>Gaining cohesion between key stakeholders wanting different outcomes from the intranet
>How “intranet” can become embedded “intranet functionality” in a ECM approach
>Stories from getting it right and wrong

Ever seen a complete SharePoint solution built in 30 minutes?
ARRGHH!! It's so difficult to build apps on Sharepoint ! Come and see how the University of Nottingham has transformed its administrative team to build their own solutions. You'll get to see how a complete solution (that typically takes weeks to build) can be constructed in 30 minutes with only 3 web parts. Bottom-up collaboration with SharePoint 2010 on a global scale
How can web 2.0 trends make a day to day difference for all users in an organisation?  How do we capitalise on the lessons our users have learned outside the firewall in order to foster a culture of internal communication and collaboration?  SharePoint 2010 provides the functionality to enable contribution from the bottom-up, putting people in power of their information.  This concept is incredibly powerful when an organisation is geographically disbursed across the world, and communication and collaboration is vital.

In this session see how the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have built their new intranet.

Integrating Hard Copy Documents with SharePoint 2010 - Ngai Tahu
This session will focus on demonstrating a live solution deployed at Ngai Tahu, Christchurch, in partnership with Fuji Xerox New Zealand Ltd.

Ngai Tahu make extensive use of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Enterprise and needed a solution to allow for the scanning, indexing and uploading of documents and images in two areas:

- Legal Contracts

- Whakapapa Records

Fuji Xerox worked with Ngai Tahu to develop a solution that allowa authorised users to scan documentation directly from any compatible FX ApeosPort device directly into the SharePoint DMS, including the ability to index documents and provide metadata at the device screen.

The deployed solution has lead to very signficant gains in efficiency, and a tangible, rapid ROI.

The solution will be demonstrated live, end to end, during the session, from capture, through indexing and upload.  Attendees will get an excellent insight and ideas relating to integrating hard copy documents and files into a SharePoint DMS.

Information Architecture in Action
We developed an Information Architecture for Telecom’s Sharepoint implementation to design, build and roll-out Sharepoint sites across Telecom. The IA defines a set of principles and structures for creating, managing and organising unstructured information within Telecom. This includes a high level taxonomy, metadata scheme and site and content navigation design based upon what Telecom does as a business and not the organisational structure. Business information was separated from team information and sites are built around business functions and activities. The presentation will provide examples of where using an IA has provided significant value and has a created a robust structure of sites and Intranet content that has survived a lot organisational change.
